Mauoq Music start off 2017 with the second instalment of the collaboration series ‘Combos’.


The release opens with the dubby and dark atmospheres of ’FIVE 0 (DECOMPRESSIN DUB)’, a half time track written with Diffrent Music bossman and long-time collaborator Dexta. An eerie vocal intro anticipates the drop into a rolling, yet minimal, drum part with warm sub lines and far-away percussion hits that fade away into open space.

The second track, ‘HEK LEGACY’, is a more melodic number written alongside London-based Italian electronic music artist F.ich. It features deep bass pads and numerous sound effects, all driven by an incessant downtempo beat pattern.

The final cut is the result of a joint effort with Belgian sound shapers Bredren. ‘STAIRCASE’ is a steppy 170 beat which manages to retain a sparse and airy overall feel despite a weighty percussive section and pitch-dropping synth bass throws.
Combos #02 is just the second chapter of what promises to be a long series of combined quality electronic music experiments.
